CRCs Are Coming- Team Boosters & Hosts Needed!

2019-01-25

Would your U12 players like to be part of the action? Deadline to apply is February 15th!

Team Booster Details
All U12 registered athletes are eligible to apply

Full details

Job Description & Commitment:
These athletes are selected to “join” one of the competing teams. Their job is to participate in team activities as invited and show up to cheer their team on whenever possible. Boosters will meet their team prior to the Opening Ceremony and join the team for the ceremony. Team Boosters may also be invited to other team events such as practices at the team’s invitation.

The Booster becomes a younger “sister” to the team and the team has an opportunity to interact/mentor a young player from our province. The child has a first-hand view of high level players and their commitment to the sport.

The child’s family will act as a “Host” for the team.

Job Description & Commitment:
The team host will act as a local team manager and is expected to assist the team in advance of and for the duration of the event. This will include providing the team with local advice such as restaurants to eat at or places to clean jerseys (examples!), sourcing team items as requested and within reason such as crock pots for the hotel (example), and helping troubleshoot if issues arise such as luggage not arriving (example). Essentially a reliable source of information and hospitality to help make their CRC experience on PEI is as delightful as possible

By becoming a Team Booster- the athlete (& their family) is agreeing to make an effort to participate in the event with their team as much as possible throughout the week. Some games will be during the day, so it is understood that athletes can’t be at everything. However, the athlete should be available for the duration of the week as much as possible.

By Becoming a Team Host- the adult agrees to be available as much as possible (and within reason) to their team in the 3-4 weeks leading up to the event and for the duration of the event. This does not mean attending all team functions/games (though that would be nice!) but rather communicating frequently with the team to ensure their comfort and care is being met.

Team boosters will be paired up so there will be 2 boosters for each team attending the CRCs. One of the boosters’ family members must agree to become the team host.

How to become a Team Booster: Send us a picture or 15 second video of how you will cheer on your adopted team along with your name, and current team.  Please include whether you are bilingual (doesn’t have to be fluent), if you may have conflicts with some dates, any other players you may want to be paired with (no guarantees), and who from your family can act as team host. The Team Boosters will be selected randomly assuming they all have the ability to make the required commitment. Your picture and video will be forwarded to the team boosters are paired with and may be used on the event website and social media to promote the event.

Send photos or videos to CRCbooster @ gmail.com

Deadline to apply is February 15.
