2nd Call for High Performance U14 Edge Coach

Head coaching applications will now be accepted for the U14 Edge until midnight of September 29, 2019.

RPEI is now accepting applications for head coaches for the U14 Edge high performance program for the upcoming 2019-20 season.

Applications will be accepted until midnight, September 29, 2019. All applications are to be sent via e-mail to Jamie Jeffery at jsjeffery12@gmail.com.

Interviews will take place immediately following the application deadline.

Applications should include:
  • Clear identification of team applying for
  • Coaching credentials
  • Ringette coaching experience
  • Other leadership experience
  • A seasonal plan and team goals
Any candidates who do not currently have the necessary coaching certifications to coach at the high performance level will need to be available to attend a coaching workshop on the weekend of Oct 5-6, 2019 to ensure they obtain the required certification for the upcoming season.  For more information regarding the required certification, please contact the RPEI office at ringettepei@gmail.com.
RPEI’s High Performance Program is meant to provide high level players with opportunities to further develop their ringette skills and to provide opportunities to compete with other ringette athletes from across Canada. RPEI encourages all athletes to strive to succeed and do their best.
 
RPEI currently offers the High Performance Program for the U14, U16, U19 and 18+ divisions. Wave teams are expected to compete at the Atlantic and Canadian Ringette Championships (except the U14 Wave who are not eligible for CRCs). Edge teams are expected to compete at both the Atlantic and Eastern Canada Ringette Championships.
For the upcoming 2019-20 season, RPEI is planning to ice the following teams:
  • U14 Wave, AA
  • U14 Edge, A
  • U16 Wave, AA
  • U16 Edge, A
  • U19 Wave, AA
  • U19 Edge, A
  • 18+ Wave
RPEI will support the creation of an Edge team for this upcoming season in all divisions if there are at least 15 players (1 of which is a goaltender) who tryout for the Wave  team, adhere to the High Performance policy with reference to the tryout process,  but are not selected.
Please note the following points which outline the formation of the Edge teams:
  • Tryouts will be promoted clearly indicating that any player wishing to play at a high performance level (Wave or Edge) must attend the Wave try-outs following the mandatory attendance ratio as set out in the high performance policy.
  • Once a coach is announced, tryouts will continue for the selection for the Edge team following the HP policy.
