Call for High Performance Head Coaches

Ringette PEI is now accepting applications for head coaches for the high performance program teams U14, U16, and U19 for the upcoming 2020-2021 season. Applications will be accepted until midnight, September 11, 2020. All applications are to be sent via email to ringettepei@gmail.com. Interviews will take place the week of September 14th. Applications should include:

• Clear identification of team applying for
• Coaching credentials
• Ringette coaching experience
• Other leadership experience
• A seasonal plan and team goals

 
RPEI’s High Performance Program is meant to provide high level players with opportunities to further develop their ringette skills and to provide opportunities to compete with other ringette athletes from across Canada. RPEI encourages all athletes to strive to succeed and do their best. RPEI currently offers the High Performance Program for the U14, U16, U19 and 18+ divisions.
 
Due to COVID-19 and restrictions on gathering sizes, for the upcoming 2020-2021 season, RPEI is planning to ice the following teams:

• U14 Wave, AA
• U14 Wave, AA
• U14 Edge, A
• U14 Edge, A
• U16 Wave, AA
• U16 Wave, AA
• U16 Edge, A
• U19 Wave, AA
• U19 Wave, AA
• U19 Edge, A
• 18+ Wave

 
Ringette PEI will support the creation of two Wave teams as well as an Edge team (or two) for this upcoming season in all divisions, if there are enough athletes to fill the positions. Each team will have a roster size of 11-12 with one being a goaltender.
 
*For the 2020-2021 season only, athletes will not have to attend the Wave team ice times to be eligible for the Edge team. Tryouts for these teams will be conducted separately. If an athlete choses to attend the Wave team tryouts and is not selected, they will still have the opportunity to attend the Edge team tryouts*
 
Anyone interested in the head coach position for any of these teams must apply by the September 11th deadline. Please clearly indicate the team you are applying for in your application. Applicants will be interviewed in September with the Wave coaches to be named upon the completion of the interview process. Edge coaches will also be selected at that time by RPEI, however the selections will not be made public until immediately following the final selection of the Wave team. Edge team tryouts will begin once the Wave team has been selected and the Edge coach has been formally announced. It is recommended that any coach who is interested in being part of the Edge coaching staff take part in the Wave tryouts in cooperation with that coaching staff.
